Sberbank of Russia has filed an application with the Federal Service for Intellectual Property for a “smart refrigerator”. This week the document has been registered. The device, released according to the technology declared by Sberbank, will be equipped with a system of special sensors and cameras. Their task is to constantly monitor the condition of the products and their quantity. If a product has expired, the refrigerator will warn the user about it.
Detailed information on the contents of the “smart refrigerator” can be sent directly to the owner’s smartphone at any time. All that is required is to install a special mobile application. So the owner will be able to monitor the amount of food in the refrigerator, and if necessary - place orders for food delivery. According to representatives of Sberbank, knowledge about food and drinks of customers, as well as the expiration date of their products provide great opportunities for analyzing consumer behavior. The results of this analysis will be of interest not only to Sberbank, but also to all retailers of the domestic market.
