Many Chinese manufacturers allow the release of information about their new products to the network. Often, among the first sources of such data, AnTuTu Benchmark and GeekBench performance tests are noticed. With Honor Magic 2 just such a story came out.
It is already known on which platform the new Chinese flagship will be built: this is Kirin 980, a fresh processor installed in smartphones of the Mate 20 line. Android 9 is listed as the operating system, and the test memory had 8 gigabytes of RAM. The read-only memory was 128 gigabytes, but in these tests it does not really matter.
After passing the test in Single- and Multi-Core modes, the device scored 3360 and 10045 points, respectively. This is one of the few Android smartphones that has overcome the ten thousandth mark. The flagships on Snapdragon gain an average of 2500 points in single-core and up to 8500 in multi-core tests. Apple iPhone XS showed 4795 and 11,223 points. Its result is unattainable.
According to AnTuTu, Honor Magic 2 scored 248 368 points. For comparison, the iPhone XS scored 372 106 points, setting an absolute record for a mobile performance test. Competitors based on the Snapdragon 845 on average gain about 260,000 points, the results vary slightly depending on the shell.
Today, Honor representatives recalled the existence of the Magic line by releasing the teaser Magic 2. In it, with an eye on the first Magic, some details about the second generation are reported. For example, it was here that the presence of a slider mechanism like Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 from Xiaomi was officially confirmed. The remaining details will be announced in two days, October 31.
