The well-known insider @UniverceIce posted on his Twitter the results of passing the GeekBench performance test with the new flagship Samsung Galaxy S9, based on the Exynos 9810 processor. Important note: almost all Samsung flagships are available in versions on the Exynos or Qualcomm processor. The only exception was the Galaxy S6: then the Koreans abandoned third-party developments, but now is not about that.
An insider said that the version on the American chip is much slower, so you should wait for the version on the chip of the company's own production. According to him, Exynos shows 2378 points in a single-core test and 8132 points in a multi-core performance test. Last year's S8, for example, showed 2,000 and 6,500 points in similar tests, adjusted for statistical error.
The Snapdragon 845 version test showed results that do not fit with the insider's words: single-core test - 2422 points, multi-core - 8351. The difference is insignificant, it can also be attributed to the error. Nevertheless, it is worthwhile to understand that the test sample is definitely not final, and the real sensations from the operation of the device often do not coincide with the readings of synthetic tests.
The importance of the issue can hardly be overestimated, especially in the context of the information that has appeared about the new generation of the Samsung Dex Pad dock. The photo was published by Evan Blass. The station is very different from the previous Dex. First of all, the smartphone is lying here, but not standing, so it can be used as a trackpad. On the case there are USB-C and USB-A connectors, as well as an HDMI output.
The presentation of the new flagship is scheduled for February 25. Probably, the updated Dex will be shown along with Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus smartphones.
