They decided to create a simple phone that can call and write SMS. There are no advertisements, instant messengers, email clients, and many other “useless software”. What is the secret?
People are mired in social networks, which is why most of their free time is spent holding a smartphone in their hands. But restricting users to just calls, as was the case with the first-generation Light Phone, is a bold undertaking. Therefore, in the second Light Background, you can write SMS, set an alarm, or listen to music through headphones connected through a 3.5 mm audio output.
You can charge the device using a regular USB-C cable, and you will have to do this once every 5 days. The platform is Qualcomm MSM8909W SoC, 1 gigabyte of RAM and 8 gigabytes of read-only memory, and LightOS is the “helm” - a lightweight Android assembly. In addition to the already working functions, it is planned to add the function of displaying weather, a calculator, a playlist, voice commands and a voice recorder here.
Anyone who decides to support the project at the fundraising stage will have to pay $ 250 for the smartphone, and after the release, the cost of Light Phone 2 will be $ 400. Shipment of the new product will begin only in a year.
