Today, during the next day of the Computex 2019 exhibition, Huawei showed a new laptop. Company CEO Michael Young showed a new ultrabook based on the AMD Ryzen processor, supplemented by Vega 8 graphics. The date of the appearance of the Huawei MateBook D remains a mystery, as is the price.
The Chinese company does not disclose the exact characteristics. So far, it is only known that the novelty runs on an AMD Ryzen 5 2500U chip. It was built using Zen cores that operate at a frequency of 2.0 GHz, but if you activate turbo boost, the frequency can increase to 3.6 GHz. Graphics Vega operates at a frequency of 1.1 GHz, and the main feature of the bundle, according to the manufacturer, is its low power consumption - less than 15 watts.
As a screen, the Huawei MateBook D uses a 14-inch IPS monitor with a resolution of 1920 × 1080. Viewing angles and color reproduction at a height, it would be strange to see a TN-matrix in such a case. Supports Dolby Atmos technology that controls four speakers, as well as a USB-C port. At the same time, the thickness of the case when folded is 15.8 millimeters, and the weight is 1.45 kilograms.
According to AMD representatives, their platform is the most productive among modern mobile hardware. Compared to the Intel Core i7-8550U, the performance of the Ryzen 7 2700U is 28% higher. The integrated AMD Vega graphics is almost twice as fast as Intel HD Graphics.
