Employees of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs began testing compact cameras to identify a citizen's face. The operation of the devices is based on technologies developed by the Russian company NtechLab. Official camera officials told about testing portable cameras. NtechLab executives have confirmed this information.

If the test results are found to be satisfactory, then identifying people by recognizing their faces will become an element of the standard functionality of all compact registrars that are actively used by security forces today. According to representatives of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, such technologies have long been successfully tested abroad. In particular, the American police have been using smart glasses for several years that can identify a citizen by his face. A representative of NtechLab said that the development of a registrar with face recognition function has been ongoing for a long time. In the future, it will be produced in small batches on order.
