I want to become the owner of the iPhone X, but sorely lacking money? Then you should pay attention to the affordable Honor 8X smartphone, which in terms of design resembles Apple's flagship phone. Yes, the filling here is not so advanced, but the performance of this unit is at a fairly high level. A review of the Honor 8X will help to verify this.
Equipment
You can not call the delivery kit Honor 8X too rich or poor. Inside the box, the buyer will be waiting for: smartphone, USB cable, charging, clip for removing the SIM tray, as well as documentation. A nice addition will be a silicone case that protects the device from possible damage. At the same time, certain domestic stores also offer special gifts. It can be branded wireless headphones, a fitness tracker or a portable battery.
Design and display
It uses the now fashionable glass design. Two tempered 2.5D glass panels are interconnected by an aluminum frame. On the back side there was not only a fingerprint scanner, but also two convex modules of the main camera located in the upper corner. Under them you can see the LED flash, as well as the AI Camera logo. Interestingly, there is a peculiar strip with a darker shade on the back, located on the left side. Front mounted large frameless display. Its frames from all sides seem really thin. There is already familiar to many users the "bang", which came into fashion thanks to the iPhone X. But here it is not so wide.
The device looks attractive literally from all sides. It should only be understood that beauty requires sacrifice. A fly in the ointment is an increased sliding effect, so you need to use the phone carefully. Available colors: red, black, pink, blue. Dimensions: thickness - 7.8 mm, weight - 175 g, width - 76.6 mm, height - 160.4 mm.
The gadget received an LTPS screen with a large 6.5-inch diagonal. Its resolution is 2340 by 1080 pixels, and the aspect ratio is 19.5: 9. Such a display occupies almost 91% of the total front panel area. Due to the high resolution and the absence of an air gap, the picture is detailed and clear. There is an oleophobic coating, which quite effectively fights prints. There is a bright backlight for a matrix of this type, which allows you to comfortably use the device on sunny days. The color scheme is very juicy. If you do not like the dominance of warm colors, you can adjust the image settings.
Performance
For an affordable segment, the characteristics of the smartphone are impressive. A new eight-core Hisilicon Kirin 710 processor with a maximum clock frequency of 2200 MHz is installed here. There is a 3D graphics accelerator Mali-G51 MP4. The standard version comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal file storage. More advanced modifications are equipped with 6 GB of RAM, as well as 64 or 128 GB of internal memory. The user can use microSD cards, the volume of which does not exceed 400 GB. It houses a battery with a capacity of 3750 mAh. In balanced mode, the charge lasts for several days. After purchase, the Android 8.1 operating system is immediately available along with the proprietary EMUI 8.2 shell. In the AnTuTu test, the v7 Honor 8X scores over 140,000 points. This result allows the smartphone to function really fast in any situation. The interface is processed without delay. Games are launched instantly, even “heavy” ones. As for the graphics, it is almost always automatically set "high", so the picture is very colorful and juicy.Even the most demanding online projects work at the highest possible graphic settings.
Camera
The device got a dual camera with LED flash. The first module with aperture of 1.8 is 20-megapixel, and the secondary is 2-megapixel.
There is a background blur function to create beautiful portrait shots. There is comprehensive support for artificial intelligence. For example, the user can access various ready-made scenes with optimized settings. On the other hand, the system works quite primitively, since almost all changes are reduced to increase or decrease saturation and contrast. This camera fights noise efficiently and also performs well in low light. But with the white balance there are certain problems. There is also a good 16-megapixel front camera with aperture of 2.0, able to instantly recognize faces.
Sound
The Honor 8X has one multimedia speaker, which pleasantly surprises with an increased volume. At the same time, listening to music at maximum is still not very comfortable, because there is a peculiar buzz. If you listen to music through headphones, then immediately there is a lack of low frequencies. This can be slightly offset by an equalizer. Then the sound becomes more balanced. The spoken speaker copes with direct duties perfectly, there are no significant claims to his work.
Price
Today, the Honor 8X can be purchased for 19,000 rubles or more, depending on configuration and kit. This is a reasonable price for a smartphone that not only functions quickly, but also can pleasantly surprise with a spectacular design.
Conclusion
The new Honor has once again proven that mid-range smartphones cannot be discarded. This gadget is as balanced as possible, as it received high-quality iron, a dual camera, a large display and a stylish glass case.
