A publication appeared on the iFixit website in which experts are trying to understand why the new Samsung Galaxy Fold smartphone has so many problems with the screen. Earlier, several IT journalists immediately complained about broken smartphone displays. As a result, sales of the device were postponed.
Engineers from the portal found that between the halves of the display there is a gap of about 6 mm wide. Dust and dirt get into it. If solid particles of dirt reach the hinge, which ensures the folding of the device, the screen will simply stop working. Moreover, it will turn off completely, and not partially, as it happens when traditional flat screens are damaged.
Experts noticed the extreme fragility of the new display. They suggested that the screen did not break due to attempts to remove the protective layer from it, but because it was pressed too hard.
Finally, the maintainability of the new device was recognized as low. On a ten-point scale, she was awarded only 2 points. That is, with a great desire to repair the Galaxy Fold, you can. But it will be long and very expensive.
