Apple may prohibit the import and sale of iPhone smartphones in the United States. That recommendation was made by Mary McNamara, a judge hearing cases before the International Trade Commission (ITC). Chip maker Qualcomm found that Apple was violating the provisions of its patent for the manufacture of smartphones, and filed a lawsuit.

Having examined it, Judge McNamara decided in favor of Qualcomm. So far this is a preliminary verdict, which is not required to be executed. But very soon, the case will be considered a second time, by the ITC commission. Then the final verdict will be issued. The exact date of the meeting of the commission is still unknown.

If Apple loses the process, then it will have to stop supplying several models of smartphones in the United States. Their list is being specified. Nevertheless, Apple has a good chance of winning, as according to Judge McNamara, Qualcomm accused Apple of violating three patents, but during the trial it was proved that there were no violations of two of them.
