Sony in its official blog announced that now every fan of the PlayStation game console has the opportunity to change his nickname for free. But this can be done only once. Previously, there were no such functions in user accounts, which gamers have repeatedly complained about.
Sony decided to listen to the requirements of the players and updated the functionality. However, the update, in addition to the obvious pluses, entailed cons. For example, nicknames began to appear, clearly insulting other gamers or containing obscene expressions.
In order to somehow resist this situation, Sony decided to limit the number of free nick changes. And today, users can do this only once, and only if the previous nickname was automatically blocked due to violations of Sony's rules on prohibited content. It will be possible to change the nickname both through the browser, and from the console, via PSN. But the function is not supported by all games, but only new ones released after April 1, 2019.
