Mark Zerny is the chief architect of the PlayStation game console. He told fans of the console what the next console would be. This news appeared on the wired.com IT portal. Zerni said that the next PlayStation will have an AMD Ryzen processor with Zen-2 architecture.

The video card of the Radeon Navi line will support the picture, supporting ray tracing and 8K resolution. Tracing will make it possible to more accurately simulate the behavior of light rays when modeling three-dimensional spaces. Thanks to this technology, the picture on the screen will become even more realistic.

A familiar hard drive will be a thing of the past. Instead, a solid-state drive (SSD) will be used. This will significantly increase the download speed of gaming locations and applications. Zerni emphasized that the new drive developed for the PlayStation is faster than any of the ones on the market today. And in the new console, support for PS VR helmets and backward compatibility with 4-generation consoles will be implemented.
